Our Methods

Along with our generous compliment of equipment and extremely accurate listening spaces, people come for our positive attitude. As fellow musicians, we love making music. We encourage stunning performances, suggest alternatives, and aide in finding creative solutions to the challenging process called “recording”.  We work closely with our artists to bring life to their creations and allow them to explore additional possibilities in arrangement, audio processing, and feel. This method of discussion and experimentation is far superior to being in a cold session of “record-play-check please.” 

More and more performances are being recorded in the control room. This way, the artist hears what the engineer is hearing and allows for a free exchange of ideas by eliminating ”intercom communication”.  West Street Digital has a large, comfortable, supremely accurate control room with a smaller, acoustically isolated tracking room which is techincally smooth in frequency response. We can also dramatically change the acoustic flavor of our tracking room using quick change panels.
